How to reach the Spiaggia Rosa (Pink Beach)? Spiaggia Rosa (Pink Beach) is a beach located in Cala di Roto, south-east of the island of Budelli, in Sardinia. Budelli is an island included in the La Maddalena Archipelago.
It is called this because of the characteristic coral pink color of the sand of the shoreline, which takes on this shade thanks to the presence of calcareous shells of Miniacina miniacea, a foraminifer whose habitat is identified near the rhizomes of Posidonia oceanica, the most important marine phanerogam of the Mediterranean sea.
How to reach Budelli and the Spiaggia Rosa (Pink Beach)?
There are no alternative connections and you can reach the island of Budelli only by sea using private boats or the various ferry services that organize excursions in the archipelago of La Maddalena. Ferries to the island of Budelli depart from the Costa Smeralda, Palau or La Maddalena.
Is it possible to visit the Spiaggia Rosa (Pink Beach)?
Currently, it is possible to admire the Pink Beach with its colors only from the sea, as it is strictly forbidden to step on the beach. It is therefore possible to approach a maximum of 70 meters from the shore.
The beach, in fact, since 1994 has been included in Zone A (integral protection) of the Archipelago de La Maddalena National Park, therefore under full protection, therefore both access, transit, parking and bathing are strictly forbidden.
