During a visit to the pretty town of Cineto Romano, we recommend that you take some time at the small but interesting Municipal Antiquarium.

What does the Antiquarium keep?

In the Antiquarium you can admire numerous finds from the Cineto Romano area and in the underlying middle valley of the Aniene river, objects that can be traced back to the civilizations of the Equi and Romans and you will certainly be surprised by their beauty and state of conservation. In particular, there are reconstructed two original Roman “capuchin” burials dating back to the I-II century. A.D. complete with skeletons.

This museum, named after “Giovanni Battista Ulisse” (we leave you the GPS coordinates to reach it), was born from the synergy between the Soprintendenza, the municipal administrations and the work of a group of young archeology enthusiasts and is located in a splendid panoramic position in the the upper part of the town where it is possible to enjoy a panoramic view of both the roofs of the historic center and the Baronial Castle.

From the town’s main square you can also visit the Rioscuro River Falls, a place where nature and water will give you fond memories of this visit.
