There is a time of year when Italian fields and hills are tinged with purple. It is the lavender that blooms and gives unparalleled sensory emotions.
When is it possible to admire the lavender in bloom?
Every year the flowering of lavender varies according to the variety, but also in relation to particular climatic conditions, as well as altitude and latitude. In fact, at higher altitudes, such as in northern Italy where it is obviously colder on average, lavender blooms later.
But we can say that, in general, the lavender bloom extends from mid-June to mid-August.
How to admire the famous lavender fields of Sale San Giovanni?
The flowering period of lavender in the territory of Sale San Giovanni in Piedmont generally occurs between the middle of June and the beginning of July.
How much does it cost?
During the weekends included in the flowering period it is possible to admire the lavender fields. The community of Sale San Giovanni requires a small contribution of € 2 per person to access the paths that cross the crops. This contribution is used to cover the costs of maintaining the routes, as well as guaranteeing safety and some basic services useful for the best use of this experience.
