When is the best time to visit Venice? Surely the best time to visit the city of Venice is from the end of March to May, when the lower influx of tourists and the mild spring climate combine to form the conditions for a peaceful and non-tiring visit to the city.
Obviously. as happens in all major Italian tourist cities, the least enjoyable period is the summer, from June to August. In fact, in recent months the city is overcrowded with tourists, the hot weather and humidity can be overwhelming.
If you can’t travel in the spring as recommended, also consider September and October. The months of November and December, on the other hand, could be characterized by high water phenomena. But winter could also hold some surprises: in fact, have you ever visited Venice in the snow?
From a cost point of view?
We assume that there is no “low season” in Venice and almost all periods the prices are quite high both for catering, for tourist services and for overnight stays.
It should also be considered that in spring, when the city reaches its maximum attendance (both for the Easter holidays and for the months until June) it can also be very difficult to find accommodation to sleep. The same goes for the Christmas holidays and for the period of the famous Venice Carnival.
