Apricale Italy. Among the hills of the Ligurian hinterland, the medieval village of Apricale appears like a jewel set in the rock. From here the gaze is lost in the green until you reach the coast. The historic center seems to have stopped over time. Its magical atmosphere has been a source of inspiration for painters, artists and writers. Its houses are embraced by narrow alleys that lead up to the Castello della Lucertola, perched on the high rocky spur, the top and symbol of the Borgo.
The first Ligurian municipality for Most beautiful village in Italy”
Apricale was the first Ligurian municipality to be awarded the title “Most beautiful village in Italy” and is among the municipalities “Orange Flag”, “Strada dell’olio” and “Perla della Liguria”.
The surroundings offer many opportunities for tourism and pleasure. The Borgo is located about 10 minutes from the beaches of the most famous towns of the Ligurian Coast and about 30 minutes from the French border with the French Riviera and Nice. Embraced and protected by the Maritime Alps, it is an excellent starting point for excursions and walks.
Apricale Italy and the Albergo Diffuso
The Albergo Diffuso in Apricale MuntaeCara, translated into dialect “Sali e Scendi”, offers a new and exclusive form of hospitality. The splendid suites and rooms are housed in the ancient houses of the historic center of the village. It is possible to stay inside ancient towers, caves and noble houses, scattered throughout the suggestive pedestrian center, between climbs, descents, narrow alleys and medieval walls.
