The town of Monterosso is considered the largest in the Cinque Terre area. Its beach is wide and fascinating and the first historical notes of it date back to the year 1200. Monterosso is divided into two parts: the old port area and the residential area where there is also the train station.
The two parts are joined by a short tunnel dug under the promontory. Most of the accommodations are concentrated in the residential area where there is also access to the long beach on which stands a statue of the God Neptune, 14 meters high.
Just from this statue you can start a not simple path that will take you to Punta Mesco in about an hour. From here you can continue for another 90 minutes until you reach Levanto with a truly breathtaking panorama.
