The Lake of Montagna Spaccata is a small and graceful lake of artificial nature located in Abruzzo, in the heart of the Abruzzo, Lazio and Molise National Park at an altitude of 1,066 meters above sea level and was born due to the dam of the Rio Torto river for the production of electricity.
It is characterized by a water that often takes on color tones ranging from turquoise to emerald due to the dense woods that surround the water. It is not difficult to meet wolves, wild boars, bears, chamois and deer in the immediate vicinity of the lake.
How to reach the Lake of Montagna Spaccata?
The small lake is located in the Alfedena area, about 2 kilometers from the town following the signs for “Lago” (lake). It can be reached either on foot from the town center, but it is also possible to park the car in the immediate vicinity of the lake.
