The Bunker Soratte is an underground complex located in the Lazio region of Italy on Monte Soratte. It is located about 60 km north of Rome. Bunker Soratte was built in the 1940s during the Second World War to house the military command of the German army in Italy. Its strategic position, situated on an elevated hill, made it an ideal place to control the surrounding area.
The bunker, made up of a series of underground galleries, extends over a length of approximately 1,500 metres. They reach a depth of about 60 meters. A number of rooms have been constructed within the complex, including staff accommodation rooms, meeting rooms, radio rooms and control rooms.
Bunker Soratte was used by the Germans until the end of the Second World War. After the war, the complex was abandoned and used only sporadically for military exercises.
Over the following years, the Bunker Soratte aroused the interest of numerous tourists and history buffs, who were able to visit the complex thanks to initiatives organized by the local authorities. To find out the opening days, times and ticket prices, you can consult the official website of the bunker.
