From the outside you can observe some parts of the fortifications and defensive walls that connect the building structures to each other to form a single unit with a trapezoidal plan, which runs along the Staggia stream on the west side.
The rooms of the ancient pilgrim’s house and the rooms of the convent of the knights-monks overlook the courtyard. Again, the small guesthouse, still used, the staircase for access to the upper floors of the building.
The Romanesque style church dedicated to “San Giovanni in Jerusalem”, which has a gabled façade, is inserted in the fortified complex. The interior has a single nave, ending in a small apse and covered by a gabled roof, masked by eighteenth-century vaults. For more information.
