The Cistercian abbey of San Martino al Cimino is located in San Martino al Cimino, a small town in the city of Viterbo, in Lazio, which is only 7 kilometers away. It was built in the 13th century by Cistercian monks, but was closed in 1564. It regained the title of abbey in the 17th century. It is currently the parish church under the diocese of Viterbo.
The interior also preserves the Abbot’s Museum set up in 2000 in the ancient scriptorium or monks’ room, it preserves religious objects, through which it is possible to retrace the history of the ancient monastic settlement. The abbey can be visited every day from 8.30 to 19.
