In the Farindola area in the Agri Valley is the Vitello d’Oro waterfall, a spectacular 28-metre-high waterfall, one of the most important sources on the southern slope of the Gran Sasso group. Legend has it that since the dawn of time, to some women intent on drawing water with a basin, near the waterfall, at dawn on St. John’s day, a small golden yellow calf appeared, from which it was taken the name given to the water jump.
