The Orbetello Lagoon Oasis is a nature reserve located in the southern part of Tuscany, a few kilometers from Grosseto. It is a vast protected area that extends over approximately 1,000 hectares and includes the Orbetello lagoon, Monte Argentario and the surrounding coast.
The Lagoon Oasis is one of the most important wetlands in Europe and hosts a great variety of animal and plant species. The Orbetello lagoon is also an important fishing area and the oasis hosts one of the most important aquaculture stations in the Mediterranean. Here molluscs such as clams and mussels are raised, which are appreciated all over the world for their quality.
