The Gardens of Villa Melzi d’Eril are one of the most beautiful and evocative places in Bellagio. It is a tourist resort on the shore of Lake Como in Lombardy, Italy.
The gardens cover an area of approximately 8 hectares and were created around 1808 at the behest of Francesco Melzi d’Eril, Duke of Lodi and Vice-President of the Italian Republic under Napoleon Bonaparte. They represent one of the most important examples of Italian gardens in the region.
The gardens feature a large variety of plants. Among these numerous rare and exotic species, and are organized in such a way as to create evocative and panoramic itineraries. In the center of the garden is a pond, which is home to many species of fish and birds.
Among the main attractions of the garden are the Grotta di Venere, a small artificial cave decorated with shells and statues. In addition to the Torre di Lario, a panoramic tower from which you can admire a beautiful panorama of Lake Como and the surrounding mountains.
Furthermore, the Gardens of Villa Melzi d’Eril are also famous for their collection of works of art, including statues, columns and bas-reliefs, and for the presence of numerous species of animals, including peacocks, ducks and swans.
