If you are thinking of organizing your holidays in Abruzzo, perhaps you will be interested in knowing how is the sea in Vasto. Vasto is one of the most sought-after and sought-after locations in Abruzzo for a beach holiday, as well as for discovering its important history and culture.
It must be said that the coast of Vasto is very extensive, about 20 km of which 7 are composed of sandy shore and 13 of cliffs, which includes the Gulf of Vasto, the only coastal inlet of the Adriatic Sea between the Gulf of Ancona to the north and that of Manfredonia to the south.
The type of coast is very varied. We go from beaches with very fine sand such as that of Marina di Vasto to those with pebble beaches such as the iconic Spiaggia di San Nicola known for its “split rock”, from the wild one of Punta Penna to the scenic one of Punta Aderci.

Vasto also offers child-friendly beaches. For this need we would like to point out the beaches of Vasto Marina and Punta Penna, recently awarded the bandiera verde flag, therefore seaside resorts with characteristics suitable for children, selected through a survey conducted among a sample of paediatricians.

If you are traveling with children we recommend that you prefer the beach of Vasto Marina or that of Punta Penna or, at most, that of San Nicola (remember that there are no services here).
