With this short article we try to answer the various questions of this type that come to us from our readers about our official group Viaggiando Abruzzo.
How challenging is the Sentiero del Cuore (Path to the Heart)? In fact, to get to see Lake Scanno, in Abruzzo, in its characteristic heart shape, it is possible to follow two paths. The first starts on the lakefront and is the slightly more challenging one and leads to the viewpoint in about an hour. The first part climbs up the side of the wood, arrives at the Eremo di Sant’Egidio (Hermitage of Sant’Egidio) and then continues up to the belvedere.
The second path can be taken directly from the town of Scanno, near the cemetery and takes about 40 minutes. This path also passes near the Eremo di Sant’Egidio (Hermitage of Sant’Egidio) (crossing with the path that starts from the lakefront) and then proceeds to the viewpoint.
Both trails are suitable for everyone, including children aged six to eight. Ultimately, if you have more time and are more fit, we recommend taking the path that starts from the lake. If, on the other hand, you have small children with you or untrained people, we recommend taking the path that starts from the village. In both cases, the arrival point is the same where you will surely take some beautiful photos as a souvenir of this experience.
