Sicily holds many splendid Greek temples, but none of them occupies a landscape as spectacular as that of Segesta which is located in the territory of Calatafimi. The Doric temple seems to appear out of nowhere in the middle of the Sicilian countryside and the site seems to belong to the pre-Hellenic cultures of the 12th century BC. c.
A road of about two kilometers that starts from the temple takes you to the top of Monte Barbaro. Along the way you will see glorious scenery and a 3rd century BC Greek theater. C. which is still used during the summer afternoons.
How to reach the Temple of Segesta?
The temple of Segesta is located about 40 kilometers east of the city of Trapani, south of the Calatafimi motorway exit.
